A new jobs report came out today and overall, it was great news. 678,000 new jobs were created in February and unemployment dropped to 3.8%. According to the data, nearly 8,000 jobs were added in the child care sector, but as the chart below shows that is far below the pre-pandemic peak so the field still has a long way to go. and more investment from Federal and State government will probably be needed for child care to recover and thrive.
