Playgrounds In Pictures: Clifford Playground

Recently we have done a series examining playgrounds and parks in New England since they are an important part of the infrastructure that promotes healthy early childhood development. So far we have looked at:

1.     Perkins School For The Blind’s Playground

2.     Pat and Gabriel Farren Playground

3.     Transportation Children Center’s Playground

4.     Irving Park

5.     Smith Playground in Allston

6.     Watertown’s 552 Main St Playground

7.     Mother’s Rest Playground along The Muddy River

This post will look at Clifford Playground. This small tot lot playground is next to a larger field. There was some controversy recently when discarded needles were found at the field which unfortunately is an all too common problem with opioid crisis leading to park agencies all across the country having to deal with this issue. When I visited the playground I saw no evidence of needles or anything like that. It was a small well maintained clean playground with a variety of equipment.  The park is located at 171 Norfolk Avenue, Boston, MA and the playground is on the other side of the field right next to Mass Ave. It is a convenient location for families in Boston near bus stops.
