Flying Bug Art Activity

In my time as a PreK/Preschool teacher, a activity that was one of the biggest hits ever was “Flying Bug Art”. In this activity, a teacher places butcher paper underneath a swing (preferably a tire swing) and children lay on the swing face down. The teacher gives the children two markers or paint brushes and then gently swings and spins the child as they try to draw on the butcher paper. (See pictures below ) In my experience, children find this activity hilarious and will ask for multiple turns. Moreover, this activity while being mostly silly fun actually helps develop a child’s Vestibular system.
